Common use

Magnium and potassium-sparing diuretic and aldosterone antagonist. It competitively associates with aldosterone receptors in in the distal parts of the nephron. It has a diuretic effect, increases excretion of natrium ions and decreases excretion of potassium and magnium, decreases urinary acidity. The diuretic effect of the medicine is moderate and appears usually after 2-5 days of treatment and continues during 2-3 days after discontinuance of the medicine intake. A weak hypotension effect appear usually in 2-3 weeks of treatment. Aldactone is used in combination with other drugs to treat hypertension. It also facilitates removal of excess fluid from the body in congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney disease.

Dosage and direction

Daily dose for adults in arterial hypertension, edema syndrome is 50-100 mg for adults. It should be divided into 1-2 intakes a day. On necessity the dose maybe gradually increased up to 200 mg a day. Duration of treatment is not less than two weeks. For other conditions such as chronic congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome and others different dosage maybe recommended. Consult your doctor before you decide to take this medicine. Aldactone should be taken after a meal and the most preferable is a single dose before bedtime.

Talk with your doctor about amount of liquids you should consume. Do not stop using this medicine even if you feel improvement of youth health if you are being treated for high blood pressure.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity, Addison disease, hypercaliemia, hyperpotassiemia, concomitant intake with potassium supplements or other potassium-sparing diuretics such as Aldactazide, amiloride (Midamor, Moduretic), triamterene (Dyrenium, Dyazide, Maxzide), hyponatriemia, chronic kidney failure, diabetic nephropathy, anuria, liver failure, diabetes at supposed chronic kidney failure, diabetic nephropathy, pregnancy, and some others. Please take this medicine only if it is advised by your doctor.

Possible side effect

Side effects of the medicine include headache, diarrhea, cramps, drowsiness, rash, nausea, vomiting, impotence, irregular menstrual periods, and irregular hair growth. Generic Lozol (Indapamide) https://highstreetpharma.com/product/generic-lozol-indapamide/ https://highstreetpharma.com/product/generic-lozol-indapamide/#respond Wed, 15 Apr 2026 04:30:00 +0000 http://matys.co.in/gaurav/woodmart/?post_type=product&p=8097
Lozol is used to treat hypertension either alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications.
The post Generic Lozol (Indapamide) appeared first on Highstreetpharma.]]>
Common use

Lozol is a thiazide-like diuretic which contains an active substance benzamide-sulfonamide-indole (Indapamide). By its pharmacological properties it is similar to thiazide diuretics (changes of Na+ re-absorption in the vertical segment of the loop of Henle). Lozol increases excretion of Na+, Cl-, K+, and Mg2+ with urine. It is used to treat hypertension either alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. Long treatment with Lozol is required, a therapeutic effect observed after 1-2 weeks of use, maximum is reached in 8-12 weeks and keeps up to 8 weeks.

Dosage and direction

Take Lozol once a day in mornings before breakfast with or without food. The usual initial dose is 1.25 mg taken as a single daily dose. It may be increased up to 5 mg.

Precautions

Lozol and other diuretics stimulate excretion of slats and potassium with urine which may lead to considerable loss of the substances especially among elderly women. Hypopotasse signs are muscle weakness and rapid or irregular heartbeat. For compensation of the potassium loss, you may be recommended to eat potassium-rich foods or taking a potassium supplement. Risk of hypopotassemia increases when larger doses are used, in the patients with cirrhosis, and in those treated by corticosteroids or ACTH. Blood pressure, K+ serum, and creatinine tests should be done regularly, especially in the individuals with an irregular heartbeat or those on heart medications. Systematic control of blood K+, Na+, Mg2+, pH, glucose uric acid and residual nitrogen is required especially in patients with gout or high uric acid levels, liver disease, diabetes, or lupus erythematosus, kidney dysfunction.

Contraindications

Lozol cannot be administered in patients with hypersensitivity to its components, severe liver or kidney failure (anuria), hypopotassemia. High doses of Lozol cannot be used to treat edematous syndrome in the patients with cerebrovascular accident and decompensated diabetes with ketoacidosis. Lozol cannot be used in individuals with lactose intolerance, galactosemia, a syndrome of glucose malabsorption for the medication which contain lactose. Cautiousness should be exercised in individuals with impairments of water-electrolyte balance, moderate liver or kidney failure, ascites, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hyperuricemia (gout), hyperparathyroidism, pregnant or breastfeeding women in elderly or adolescents under 18 years of age.

Possible side effect

Frequency of side effects depends on the dose of Lozol. They may appear as agitation, anxiety, dizziness, headache, back pain, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dry mouth, infection, irritability, muscle cramps or spasms, numbness in hands and feet, nervousness, nasal inflammation, pain, tension, fatigue, weakness, loss of energy or tiredness.

Drug interaction

Lozol may cause hypopotasseimia and hypomagnesemia. Fatal arrhythmias may develop in patients on digoxin (Lanoxin) due to toxicity. Cardiac arrhythmias are also caused by use of amiodarone (Cordarone) and indapamide. Elimination of lithium by kidneys decreases in patients treated by diuretics and hereby leads to increase of lithium toxicity.

Missed dose

Never take a double dose of this medication. If it is almost time of the next dose just skip the missed portion and continue to take the medicine according to the schedule.

Overdose

You need immediate medical attention in case of Lozol overdose which may express through such symptoms as electrolyte imbalance, nausea, stomach disorders, vomiting, weakness.

Storage

Tablets of Lozol should be stored at room temperature between 15-30 C (59-86 F).

Generic Microzide (Hydrochlorothiazide) https://highstreetpharma.com/product/generic-microzide-hydrochlorothiazide/ https://highstreetpharma.com/product/generic-microzide-hydrochlorothiazide/#respond Wed, 15 Apr 2026 04:30:00 +0000 http://matys.co.in/gaurav/woodmart/?post_type=product&p=8123
Microzide is a diuretic used to lower blood pressure and prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
The post Generic Microzide (Hydrochlorothiazide) appeared first on Highstreetpharma.]]>
Common use

Microzide is a moderate thiazide diuretic medication which decreases reabsorbtion of Na+ at the level of cortical limb of Henles’ loop not influencing its segment located in medullary layer of the kidney. This is a reason of its weaker diuretic effect comparing to Lasix. Microzide is used to treat high blood pressure and accumulation of fluid (edema of different origin). Mechanism of its treating effect on lowering of high blood pressure is not well understood.

Dosage and direction

Microzide maybe taken with our without food and its dose depends on your condition, age and weight and should be prescribed by your doctor.

Precautions

Avoid drinking alcohol, becoming overheated or dehydrated during workouts, exercise and in hot weather. Warn your doctor if you suffer from liver disease, kidney disease, asthma or allergies, gout, diabetes, or if you are allergic to sulfa drugs.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, diabetes, chronic kidney failure, anuria, severe liver failure Addison disease, first trimester of pregnancy, breastfeeding, infancy (younger than 3 y.o.).

Possible side effect

If you feel weakness, low blood pressure, light sensitivity, impotence, nausea, abdominal pain, electrolyte disturbances, pancreatitis, jaundice, anaphylaxis, and rashes contact your doctor and seek for immediate medical help. Patients allergic to Sulfa may also be allergic to Microzide.

Microzide can aggravate kidney dysfunction, lower blood potassium, sodium, and magnesium levels. Low potassium and magnesium levels can lead to abnormalities in heart rhythm, so treatment with Microzide require supplementation with potassium is common to prevent low potassium levels.

Drug interaction

Concomitant treatment with ethanol, barbiturates, opioid analgesics increases risk of hypotension. If Microzide is administered with insulin and medications which decrease levels of sugar in blood correction of such medication may be needed. Microzide reduces the elimination of lithium by the kidneys. Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs may reduce the blood pressure effects of Microzide.

Missed dose

If you forgot to take a dose take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next intake. Resume your regular schedule. Do not compensate the missed dose by taking an extra one.

Overdose

If you experience nausea, weakness, dizziness, dry mouth, thirst, and muscle pain or weakness seek for immediate medical help.

Storage

Keep at room temperature, 15-30 C (59-86 F), in a light-resistant container away from moisture.
